We are reminded…THAT’S JUST THE WAY IT ENDED.  IT  WASN’T A MEASURE OF THE EXPERIENCE.  As the calendar page turns to June, we feel waves of profound sadness, and often find it hard to accept these words.  History doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes.  June after June, we suffer through tabloid media and extortionists inviting our anger.  We have learned to use anger, acting upon it to point us in a direction worthy of Michael.  We are rewarded by our risk taking…empowered to continue to educate the world.  Learning from Michael strength and persistence, we refuse to allow our freedom to be sabotaged.  Writing is one way to share the truth.  Through the lens of Michael, our fight is with a pipeline of ideas, telling his story.

Respecting our biologically programmed need for play, we deal with difficulties.  Play provides a sense of expansiveness and promotes mastery of our work…an essential part of the creative process.  It is PEOPLE POWER, winning and losing…never a spectator sport.  In a time where the ugly stew of racism comes from those in power, where money is its only goal,  Michael’s words enlighten our souls, more precious than jewels.  We have been told:  When in sorrow, the light is closest to us~Hazrat Inayat Khan  We know that what has been said is not enough.

Michael Jackson is aesthetically and spiritually significant.  We return to his artistry day after day ~ as I have done for eight years since that seminal moment that pushed me into the light~ with a feeling of wonder and excitement.  We move from fear to love.

Michael Jackson’s story is meant to be unfinished so that we can keep reaching.  It may be an answer to the question:  Is it better to journey than to arrive?  If service is the rent we pay for living, Michael’s persistent payments command us to find our humanity against all resistance, with due diligence, as we live in what many would say is a culture of fear.  Led by someone greater than us, with the capacity to bring love and compassion into our lives, changing mindsets into what is possible, we come together to move barriers into meeting points.  Hope is learned.  It is a call for a wake up.  Joseph Vogel described Michael’s artistry as substantive lyrics becoming so much more in the delivery.  It is a rallying cry to action.  People care about Michael’s music and dance, seeing Michael inside of it, responding from deep within his body.  Social justice problems laid out in verse, solutions found in the choruses…questions asked and then answered by a community of voices, powerful as one.  Jeremiad:  a lamentation, mournful complaint.

Although true, we cannot stop there.  We feel an obligation to share the love.  A 20 second hug releases the bonding hormone neutron transmitter oxytocin, nature’s anti-depressant and anti-anxiety.  Oxytocin is a powerful hormone.  A hug acts as a neutron transmitter to the brain.  Scientists suggest that you need to experience at least 8 hugs a day in order to feel happier and content with life.  Michael gave the science of this fact velocity.  His gentle, passionate perseverance was unflinching in the belief that showing love changes the world.  His long hugs are legend.  The authenticity of intimacy is palpable.  Simply watching gives spiritual impact. Hungering for this beauty and goodness finds a home in our soul.  We then set about doing Michael’s heartwork, his soul and ours are the same…profoundly connected.GLOW NINE

Our passion is embodied in our prayers for something more.  Michael’s dreams for a better world are translated through our actions.  If, as Diane Ackerman says, that choice is a signature of our species, we choose our birthright, looking for the gifts within the struggle and benefitting from them.

The biggest enemy of Michael Jackson’s legacy is the myth.  Opening our eyes to aGLOW SEVEN new day, we pray that joy cometh in the morning.  And alas, many mornings fall short of that prayer.  Erasing the unrecognizable version of reality is increased during the months of June and August.  Many claim to crawl into Michael’s mind and then define what they think they have seen there, presuming to know…but, instead spotlighting myths.  To those with a media spin, facts won’t help…no attention given to the masses of Fans gathered in Los Angeles, Forest Lawn, Neverland and Gary, Indiana…no coverage for TRIBUTES, MEMORIALS…LANTERNS OF LOVE…vigils of devotion.  While authors join talking heads to increase the sales of disrespectful fiction and trash tabloids return to 2005 to obliterate facts…we gather to write the truth…the “book” we want to read.  Spending our time in search of causes that continue Michael’stom messereau two messages, we give energy to changing the lives of children for the better, seek answers that protect the ecology.

Michael Jackson’s spiritual health often was shown in his capacity for enthusiasm.  As he spoke to Prince, he helped his young son realize the value of confidence and perseverance.  Along with his three children, we all feel Michael watching over our dreams, his glowing light leading from the back, as all good leaders do.
